Participate in the 5th annual Butterfly Blitz! This citizen science program is creating a watershed-wide inventory of butterflies. Join Credit Valley Conservation’s Butterfly Blitz team for a guided butterfly hike and optional training. Optional training will include how to ID butterflies, how to use iNaturalist, ebutterfly or other helpful tips for your adventures ahead! During this event we will explore Terra Cotta Conservation Area and learn about butterflies together. This is a great opportunity to learn about our Butterfly Blitz Program and add observations to the iNaturalist project! Everyone is welcome to attend; admission to the park is free for event participants. The event will run until 12:30pm. If you would like, please bring a lunch, a light snack will be provided. What to Wear: • For your own safety, please dress for the weather, wear long pants, socks, and closed-toed shoes. What to Bring: • Your own reusable water bottle (we have water to refill from) • Sunscreen and bug spray • A hat • A Cell Phone • A lunch if you wish (a snack will be provided) • Butterfly net and field guide if you have one Additional Information: • Stay home if you are feeling sick • Registration is recommended • Washroom amenities will be available • If you have any questions, you can email us at cvcvolunteers@cvc.ca This event is subject to change or cancellation due to inclement weather.
